Dance Proms 2017 was another resounding success at the Royal Albert Hall on 5 November, showcasing a fantastic array of dance talent from our company of hundreds of talented performers.
The international celebration of dance welcomed both old and new dance groups from across the world. The audience buzzed with anticipation as they were welcomed by our Dance Proms host, Radzi Chinyanganya, who got the audience clapping, stamping and whooping from the stalls to the gallery before the performance even began.
The audience were treated to some stunning performances from 20 dance schools from across the UK, Malta, Italy, Austria and Vietnam. Dance styles on display included classical ballet, tap, modern, contemporary, commercial/street, national folk dance, classical Greek and musical theatre jazz.
Our guest acts for 2017 were truly inspirational to our young Dance Proms Company and thoroughly entertained the audience on the night – the 2017 BBC Young Dancer winner, Nafisah Baba; the A Team from XS Latin Cambridge, and the brilliant Flawless who presented the next generation performing with young members from the Flawless Dance School.
Christopher Thomas, the Dance Proms Young Choreographer 2017, performed his emotional piece, In Light of Those You Love, with his dance partner Hannah McGlashon.
We thank every performer, dance teacher, patron, guest act and sponsor for making this another glittering event, one that will be remembered forever.
